established in a garden in Christchurch in the following spring 1960. By the summer
1964-65 it occurred throughout New Zealand in home gardens and in areas where
the host species has become naturalised (McNabb, 1966). As mint in most parts of
the country is not grown commercially no control measures have been practised.
