Notes: Onion rust occurs sporadically throughout New Zealand on onions, chives, and shallots. During the last ten years it has not become sufficiently well established in any part of New Zealand to be of economic importance. In 1965 it occurred on garlic, and there was an outbreak of the disease in garlic crops in Blenheim.
