Article: Horak, E. (1971). A contribution towards the revision of the Agaricales (Fungi) from New Zealand. New Zealand Journal of Botany 9(3): 403-462 (http://www.rsnz.org/publish/abstracts.php). Notes: Mycena multicolorata Stevenson (29 D) = Insiticia flavovirens (Cooke and
Massee) Horak. I. flavovirens was originally described from Australia, where it
was found growing on trunks of tree ferns imported from New Zealand. We
checked the type material of both species which is clearly conspecific (see Pegler,
1965) and in addition collected this agaric on two occasions on its rather
specialised host substratum.
