Biostatus

Present in region - Indigenous. Endemic
Description: Stromata: Stromata pulvinate, or effused; 15-55 mm long; 5-12 mm broad; 2 mm thick; perithecia not visible, or inconspicuous; ostioles lower than or more or less equal to stromatal surface; stromatal surface rust to orange-brown; granules immediately below stromatal surface rust to orange; KOH-extractable pigments rust, deep yellow-brown to orange; tissue below perithecia inconspicuous.
Perithecia: Perithecia more or less globose; 0.2-0.3 mm diam.
Asci: Asci 190-210 µm long; 6-7.5 µm wide; stipe long with spores more or less confined to upper half of ascus; amyloid ring broader than high.
Ascospores: Ascospores 11-15 µm long; 4.5-5.5 µm wide; brown; 0-septate; in side view inequilateral, flattened on one side, not curved, or inequilateral, flattened on one side, curved (slightly); in face view elliptic; ends narrowly rounded. Germ slit straight, spore-length; on concave, curved side of spore. Perispore indehiscent in 10% KOH.
