Description: Stromata: Stromata pulvinate, or effused; 0.5-3 mm thick; perithecia not visible to conspicuous; ostioles lower than or more or less equal to stromatal surface; stromatal surface rust to orange-brown; granules immediately below stromatal surface rust to orange, or red brown; KOH-extractable pigments rust, deep yellow-brown to orange; tissue below perithecia inconspicuous.
Perithecia: Perithecia tubular; 0.1-0.3 mm diam.; 0.3-0.8 mm high.
Asci: Asci 120-220 µm long; 8-10 µm wide; stipe long with spores more or less confined to upper half of ascus; amyloid ring broader than high.
Ascospores: Ascospores 9.5-14 µm long; 5-7.5 µm wide; brown; 0-septate; in side view more or less equilateral; ends broadly rounded, or narrowly rounded. Germ slit straight, spore-length, or straight, less than spore-length. Perispore indehiscent in 10% KOH.
