Biostatus

Present in region - Indigenous. Non endemic
Description: Stromata: Stromata pulvinate, or effused; 0.5-0.7 mm thick; perithecia not visible; ostioles lower than or more or less equal to stromatal surface; stromatal surface dark brown (brown vinaceous); granules immediately below stromatal surface yellow brown, or red brown; KOH-extractable pigments lacking; tissue below perithecia inconspicuous.
Perithecia: Perithecia more or less globose; 0.1-0.3 mm diam.
Asci: Asci 90-123 µm long; 6.5-8 µm wide; stipe short with spores filling about two-thirds of ascus; amyloid ring broader than high.
Ascospores: Ascospores 8-11.5 µm long; 4.5-5 µm wide; very pale brown; 0-septate; in side view more or less equilateral; in face view fusoid, or elliptic; ends narrowly rounded. Germ slit straight, spore-length. Perispore dehiscent in 10% KOH, or indehiscent in 10% KOH; smooth or with indistinct transverse thickenings.
