channelled up to the disc, uniform bright tawny-brown, not much if at all paler when dry,
margin crenulate, 1.5-3 cm. diameter; gills adnate, broad, rather distant, flesh-colour or
brownish, at length mealy or pruinose with the white spores, which are globose and warted
and measure 9-10 tk diameter; stem 2.5-4 cm. diameter, equal, tough, longitudinally
fibrillose, paler than the pileus. Habitat: On the ground, under trees. Distribution: Dannevirke, New Zealand. Queensland. Notes: Somewhat resembling Laccaria laccata, Berk., but readily separated by the fluted pileus. A
single specimen of this species was found mixed with another species in one of Colenso's
packets (no. 67013).
