Description: Pileus 5-15 mm diam., ochraceous more or less covered with long-brown fibrils, plano-convex with a sharp central umbo in a very small umbilicus. Gills sinuately adnexed, then seceding, white, crowded. Stipe 6-9.5 cm x 1 mm, fawn immediately beneath gills, fuscous to dark fuscous below, velvety fibrillose, somewhat grooved and twisted, tough; flesh silky white. Spores 8 x 4-4.5 µm non-amyloid, thin-walled. Cheilocystidia 10 x 5 µm with branched tips (Fig. 2/30, p. 37). Cuticular fibrils of unbranched, thick-walled, amyloid to pseudo-amyloid hyphae, 5 µm. diam. with walls 1-2 µm thick, with occasional clamp connections.
Habitat: Inserted in dead twigs of forest litter, Ohau River, Levin, 22.7.1949, Stevenson (type); & Keith George Park, 26.6.1958, Stevenson.
