Article: Cunningham, G.H. (1924). The Uredinales, or rust-fungi, of New Zealand: supplement to Part 1; and Part 2. Transactions and Proceedings of the New Zealand Institute 55: 1-58 Wellington:. Description: II. Uredosori amphigenous, chiefly hypophyllous, scattered, bullate, reddish-brown, orbicular,
1-1.5 mm. diam., long covered, at length free and surrounded by the ruptured epidermis.
Spores globose or obovate, 22-30 X 20-23 mmm.; epispore cinnamon-brown, sparsely and
moderately echinulate, 2-2.5 mmin. thick, cell-contents granular, cinnamon-brown; germ-pores scattered, numerous (8-10), conspicuous. Distribution: Distribution : Victoria. Notes: The host is indigenous, and is not uncommon on rocky areas near the sea-coast; it occurs also
in eastern Australia. (Cheeseman, 1906, p. 578.)
The spore-measurements (20 X 15 mmm.) given by Cooke and Massee are much too small,
as has been ascertained by McAlpine (1906, p. 207) from an examination of part of the type
material.
